Deluxe Magazine System Advertising Policy

Error Policy: THERE ARE NO CASH REFUNDS.
IF 1 LISTING IS WRONG, A CREDIT FOR THE ONE ERROR WILL BE CREDITED AGAINST YOUR NEXT AD AS A %PERCENT OF THE TOTAL NO. OF LISTINGS IN THE AD: 1 listing out of 10 wrong = credit of 10%, 2 listings out of 10 wrong = credit of 20% etc. OR Trade for additional space next issue!

Editorial Policy: NO EDITORIAL ALLOWED: no quantitative remarks. eg. We're Number One! We're the Best! etc. No comparitive material which elevates you above others & lowers others compared to you. Logos, slogans, awards & photos may be OK. Of Course every Advertiser is obligated not to break any laws and any ad material can be refused or rejected at the discretion of the Franchisee. ALSO - We do NOT run Ballets or other 'CUTOUTS'. The people who advertise on the other side of the page will refuse to pay because their ad is being cut out from the other side. We DO NOT TRANSLATE but if you submit ads written in Spanish or in French we will type what we get as best we can.

Payment Policy:Payment must be included with the artwork to be included in the upcoming issue unless credit arrangements have been made in advance with the Publisher

Distribution Policy: 1. We do not supply detailed printed lists of locations that we deliver (the competition can look for themselves) But we will discuss them in person with you And if you have a prime location that you want delivered, please advise us and we will consider adding that location
2. We do not supply expensive magazine copies to agents for "door to door" delivery. We provide a Sales Flyer on the web for "mailers" that you can print out. The Magazines have a specific TARGET MARKETING strategy that works - no deviation from our proven methods are acceptable
3. We will consider providing copies of magazines to be placed in out of the way Locations that we do not deliver, or extra magazines for trade show booths etc. with enough advance notice
4. Some agents who hand out magazines want to staple their business cards on the front of the magazine. Since we publish THOUSANDS of magazines this particular use OK - but ONLY STAPLE MAGAZINES THAT YOU HAND OUT PERSONALLY. Other agents will not hand out magazines meant for everybody with YOUR business card on it.

Ad Design Policy: 1. We have based the success of the magazine business on a set of "Standard" ad designs. No major deviation from these designs are done with no extra charge. eg. A 1/2 page ad has 12 listings or less, from a combiation of our 3 standard photo sizes.
2. There are Standard Photo sizes.
3. There are Standard Ad Copy lengths. (Ad copy forms which limit the number of words used are available to advertisers.
4. Border Banners are only allowed on Full Page ads.
5. There are no company logos or agent faces on the front cover. A "Neutral" cover can be handed out by every office without prejudice.
6. Agents can supply Custom artwork at the correct size for the Agents Space at the top of all ads rather than using the standard design.


Photo Policy: Agents must Provide their own photos for ads. 35mm preferred or Email as jpgs or gifs from digital cameras or scans. It is better that the Legal Agent be responsible for such an important marketing and listing function.

Private or Public Advertising Policy: We ONLY advertise homes and businesses for sale that are Listed with Real Estate Agents - This is the Magazine Concept that has been important since 1986. Real Estate Related Business IS ALLOWED to advertise. eg. Banks, insurance, movers etc.

Resale of Advertising Space Policy: Advertisers are allowed to resell part of their page to their own advertisers. eg. A full page advertiser may choose to run 16 listings and sell the last 4 or 8 listing spaces to a lawyer for $300 - go for it! But the agents must collect from that advertiser themselves, the Deluxe Magazine will still invoice for THE WHOLE PAGE

Preferred Ad Position Policy: 1. There are pages in every magazine that are considered "Preferred" positions like the front and back covers, inside front cover pages, inside back cover pages, the centerspread and often right hand pages. These pages cost Extra & must be Reserved in Advance by Contract. Otherwise we do our best but make no warranty as to where your ad will appear in the magazine.
2. The Front Cover is for sale BUT it cannot be dominated by any one advertiser. Ads must be Requested in Advance but the number of covers reserved in advance for up to one year period is strictly at the discretion of the Franchisee who is obligated to spread the Front Cover out to as many advertisers as possible on a rotating basis.eg. If 3 people want to advertise on the front cover they each can have the Third issue in turn after the other two.
